About Martyn Birch
Marty is no stranger to hard work and dedication, having spent 24yrs with the NZ Navy, including Secondments Peacekeeping with the UN. He then moved to Marlborough 20 years ago, purchasing Thymebank (a hydroponic lettuce and herb business), which he went on to grow to a nationally recognised and Trusted Brand, prior to selling the business. He believes that hard work and dedication were the key ingredients to his success.
Marty is also an active sportsperson, having represented New Zealand in age group Triathlon and Ironman as a younger man, he has now proved that age is no barrier having again qualified for the Hawaii Ironman World Championships again this year, 30 years since first competing there. Marty is actively involved in establishing and growing Water Polo in the province, which has seen Marlborough teams achieve national honors.
He is now transferring his experience and work ethic to growing and strengthening the Harcourts team.
Marty believes relationships are the cornerstone to any business transaction. “It’s not necessarily about selling, it’s more about forming relationships, adding value and establishing trust. If someone wants to see me for advice, they don’t have to be selling anything, we can just catch up for a cuppa and a chat”.
Nestled on Black Point, Whatanihi, overlooking Mahau Sound and the Pelorus Channel, this home offers views that truly captivate. The owners have decided to pass the torch, making way for your own chapter of Sounds magic. Just a quick 15-minute boat ride from Havelock, imagine commuting from here, working remotely, or simply retiring to this serene haven. Even cooking becomes a scenic delight with the kitchen sharing the same mesmerizing views. Upstairs, three bedrooms and a downstairs bunk room and separate bathroom, ensure plenty of space for family and friends to join in on the experience. Connected to mains power, there's no need to worry about generators or solar systems. Spanning 7112sqm of land backing onto protected Conservation land, privacy here is a given. A mooring for boats up to 12 meters and a substantial landing make water access effortless - coming and going has never been easier. The deck does need some work, the price takes this into account.
